Call Me By Your Name

The Music

The soundtrack of Call Me by Your Name is an artistic masterpiece. Luca Guadagnino decided to combine with music from the 80’s and classical piano music very distinct genres. Especially US-American Singer-Songwriter Sufjan Stevens  is one of the keystones for this album. For the movie, Stevens produced “Visions of Gideon” and “Mystery of Love”. Both songs are being used for the trailer of the movie.

But in the movie are actually three songs of Sufjan Stevens. Luca Guadagino was allowed to use also “Futile Devices” from the album “The Age of Adz”, which was remixed: “Futile Devices (Doveman Remix)

Both songs are not on the Spotify OST “Call Me by Your Name” album.
The idea was that Sufjan Stevens produced the pieces as a third person narrator, so Luca Guadagino decided to give him freedom in his music making.
